Natasha's Cafe: An evening of crafting and chatting
Ages teen
There is something so fulfilling about using our hands to create. The act of measuring and manipulating materials is so satifyl
Last summer we noticed in one of our evening camps for teens that it wasn’t just the act of beading, but the organic discussions alongside this that really brought the class to life. Continuing the magic into the school year, we’ve set aside one Friday each month to explore a short podcast series or Spotify playlist, along with food and discussion, as we craft using the Lyceum’s vast catalogue of materials. During the first half hour we’ll go over the skills and intricacies of the craft, as well as exploring the mediums to use, before we carry out discourse, design and delicacy.
Upon ideation, it seemed to be the perfect blend, putting together art and unique conversations with the next generation of great thinkers.
This spring, we hope to delve into multimedia fabric art forms.
